Bids welcomed for new Komati Water Project

The state-owned Trans-Caledon Tunnel Authority (TCTA) has invited bids for the construction of the Komati Water Scheme Augmentation Project, which is due to commence in February 2010.

The project is situated in Mpumalanga and will involve the construction of not only a water transfer system but also the accompanying infrastructure to pump water to reservoirs at two local power stations.

The deadline for interested parties to submit their applications would be 2 October. The construction is expected to be completed by August 2011 and the delivery of water in December 2011.
